Has anyone tried the two way player profile with the pitch side being a relief pitcher? Less routine and pressure than a starter workload and would allow him to only focus on two pitches with his fastball/slider combo. I'm firmly in the camp of anti-two way players, let them develop their biggest strength and focus on that.

As a Nats fan I can tell you a lot of us thought James Wood should have made the Opening Day roster. But, we understand he is a Boras client and how Rizzo and the Lerners have learned from the past you aren't going to be able to resign a Boras client without going to free agency (Strasburg only exception) so the team wants to retain as much control as possible. However, I thought Wood would still be up by mid May. -insert Spanky tapping fingers gif here- Waiting.. Waiting. Well, the time has finally arrived and I am totally stoked for Monday.

And don't overlook Robert Haskell, he's another blue chipper and Luke Voit wasn't exactly a stiff for his immediate returns. And believe me, there was a lot of hand wringing trading Woods to the Nationals. Before the trade, big things were expected of Woods, but in a Padres uniform. Was great seeing Todd Frazier on the video, he was always a fan favorite even when he was back in Dayton before he made it on the Reds. As a Reds fan, I can't complain about potentially landing one of Travis Bazzana or Charlie Condon, but a lot of these guys in the 5-12 range are so enticing as well that it feels weird to be missing out on them. Konnor Griffin is very impressive for a kid his age, Christian Moore just had a legendary SEC/Playoff run, Smith and Burns are better than any arm in last years draft as well as this years, don't sleep on Trey Yesavage either, and I'm a Kurtz believer and think he could outperform Caglianone in the pros.

Do you think the NCAA will address the illegal bats issue or just allow the teams cheating to remain at an unfair advantage till someone gets killed like before the BBCOR era? Also they need to put asterisks by every champion from 2022 till the bats are addressed.

Players don't stretch before games anymore. I was at a Low A game the other day and a position player was walking to the field 1:55 before a 2 PM game. Back in the old days, minor league managers would rip the position guys for being late. In short, players don't provide themselves ample time to prepare and they expect to perform their best. This is how injuries happen. The quality of baseball has no doubt suffered. Look at a player like George Wolkow. The guy is hitting under .150 in Low A. Years ago he would've been in Great Falls in a short season league. Teams are forced to rush guys who aren't ready because there aren't enough spots. Players don't bunt anymore. I can't remember the last time I saw a safety or suicide squeeze. When players do bunt, it's pathetic. Teams don't believe in teaching fundamentals anymore which is oxymoronic. You can't master the analytical side of the game without having a foundation first!!!!

This isn’t unexpected. The tv contracts dictate which conference is able to pay more and have the facilities. And baseball is the sport that prefers warmer weather… so with the south having an advantage…. Is it really a surprise that the sec is excelling? I’m more impressed with what the ACC has done with lesser resources.
